Leadership Lessons To Live By: Why I Will Praise Him In The Storm

Leadership Lessons To Live By

Learn how to remain steadfast in times of trouble, and to rejoice in the Lord, even in the midst of tribulation. Praising God in the storm is easier said than done. Yet when we are drowning in the storms of life, we cling to God for refuge, and in most cases, we are drawn into a closer relationship with Him. It is in the times of utter hopelessness that we turn to God and seek His face more than ever. Why is that? What is the determining factor that pushes our devotion time into overdrive as soon as trouble comes our way?

Your Refuge In Times of Trouble

Psalm 9:9 says: “The LORD is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble” (NLT).  One of the most amazing things about God’s character is that He is omnipotent and never-changing. How comforting to know that even though everything around us crumbles to pieces, we can still find refuge in the God of our salvation, who not only remains constant from beginning to end, but promises to shield us in times of tribulation. Remember, though, that God does not promise to take the tribulation or trial away. He merely states that in it, He will be our strength, protection, and safeguard.

Your Ever Present Help In Time of Need

Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble” (NIV). Imagine the impact this verse will have when it goes from being head knowledge and turns into knowledge of the heart. When you realize that God is ever-present in the good and bad times, then you will not depend on your roller-coaster religiosity to build your faith during trying times, but rely fully on the merciful, all-encompassing strength of the Father who loves you, knows you, and holds you.

This Too Shall Pass

Lamentations 3:22-24  “His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him” (KJV). Even though your darkest hour may seem to linger on for eternity, and though at the start of it you may not see a resolution, you can be sure of one thing:  this too, shall pass. When times of trials encompass our thought-patterns, darken our outlook, and stir fear into our hearts, we seldom focus on the truth, but rather succumb to the paralyzing lies of fear. Regardless of how the next few hours, days, weeks, or even months play out, the truth still remains the truth. God’s mercies are new every morning, and His faithfulness will guard your hope.

Embrace The Storm

Embracing trials and tribulations is not a sign of defeat. On the contrary, it’s a sign of victory. Instead of circumstances dictating your method of operation, take control by positioning your faith and hope where it matters most. Look at every experience as a vast field of knowledge through which your true test of character shines forth.

A Time For Transformation

Even so, it is well with my soul. Through great loss comes great transformation. The level of transformation will depend on your acceptance of it. There is no other way. It is when our hearts are broken, our souls shaken, our minds exhausted, and our faith tested that we step out a new, transformed being. Whether in this life or the next.

This is such a blessing to me. There are quite a few people going “through” storms. This is an encouraging Word to know that God is in our storms of life and no matter what we “go through” – He will be there to see us through it. We must hold on and continue in faith to believe that He surely will see us through our storms…it can only make us better, stronger, and wiser!

And our storms are not just for ourselves, it will help us to help others through their storms….taking us to a Divine Order, for a Divine Reversal for a Divine Release in 2012. Hallelujah! and Amen!

I’ve been a drug for 18 years & by the merciful grace of God that I’ve serving in Singapore Life Church as a pastoral asst for 4 years now and it is through our annual sharefaith subscription that I came across your Cross Leadership. I’ve been posting paragraph by paragraph on my FB esp for the sake of my beloved niece in Australia who’s husband had left her & her 2 sons for another woman. May your msg comforts her & probably some of our church member going through some losses of their loved ones. Once again, thank you and may God continue to bless Sharefaith.com in all your ministry. By the way, as we are a mandarin congregation church, your recent video without text is superb! It’s like a godsend for chinese churches relying heavily on multimedia.
